Dutch League’s Most Improved Players (MIP) 2016/2017!

2016/17 Eredivisie season has been wrapped, and ooh… what an exciting encounter we did experience! 18 teams locked horns in a 34 round of matches, and it went down to the wire for the winner to be decided. It also went down to the wire for teams like Sparta Rotterdam to survive relegation. However, as a fan, scout or manager, the thrill of that is long gone. So, let’s cut to the chase and get to the point of why Remiqz is here. Expectations were set prior season kickoff. While some players found themselves in front of thousands of fans for the first time, others had a reputation to maintain, to build, and some...to destroy. We must not forget, although we call it a team, it's the individuals that make it a team. Thus, Remiqz accesses the players behind the results we enjoyed to come up with the Most Improved Player Awards (MIP) winner of the 2016/17 season.

This individual accolade is not based on which player became the most famous, more valuable, scored most goals, etc. Taking into account data collected from games all-around the season, Remiqz’ software analyses players based on their football intelligence. With these algorithms, an evaluation of the players’ performance in the previous seasons is put against the recently ended one. It should be noted that the system’s analysis also takes into consideration the position of a player in the field. The latter means the evaluation of goalkeepers does not use the same characteristics as Defenders, Midfielders, as well as Attackers. By subtracting the total team performance from the personal performance, it leaves us the players who stand out over their team mates and are the winner of the Remiqz MIP Awards.

With that said, Remiqz presents the Dutch Most Improved Players for the 2016/17 Season in the Eredivisie and Jupiler League:
